Kurt D. Moore is a central Ohio journalist who currently covers education for The Marion Star.

He has worked in newspaper journalism for about 15 years, covering a variety of beats including local government, public safety and lifestyles.

Along with newspapers Kurt works as a contracted editorial assistant for Canvas Technologies, which updates national websites for several FOX television stations, and writes freelance stories that are shared on these sites. He freelances stories through Helium.com, a user-generated content provider, and offers suggestions on how other Helium writers can strengthen their craft.

His successes include earning writing awards from the Associated Press Society of Ohio and journalism awards from groups such as the Ohio Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Marion NAACP for his fairness in reporting and his efforts to promote diversity.

His future goals include teaching journalism, either online or at a college.
